MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Mobile police believe Bobby Grimes, 17, is a suspect in the carjacking of a 1995 Toyota Corolla from Parklane Apartments, located off Zeigler Blvd.
Officers said the victim was home when the suspect stole her car from the parking lot, two days before Christmas.
“Bobby Grimes approached our victim with a hand gun and demanded her property. He was able to take her car and left the scene,” said Corporal Chris Levy.
On January 5, 2012, police found Michael Jones in possession of the stolen vehicle.
Police said they arrested Jones for receiving stolen property, but believe Grimes is responsible for the carjacking.
“This is an early start to a violent criminal history,” Levy said.
One of the managers of Parklane Apartments said the victim moved away from the complex a week ago.
Police said the car is in the owner’s possession.
Jones was released from Mobile County Jail on bond.
FOX10 tried locating Jones with the address listed in the Mobile County Jail log, but there was not a residence at the address provided.
