ALBUQUERQUE – Former governor Bill Richardson will take on some new duties while helping to monitor Peru’s presidential runoff election. Richardson will be part of an organization of American delegation that will monitor the June 5th vote. Peru has been the site of massive protests, stemming from leftists who oppose the conservative candidate, who is the daughter of the ex-president Alberto Fuji-Mori. He is in prison on human rights violations. Fuji-Mori is also accused of sterilizing tens of thousands of poor women to curb population growth.
