LEBANON — A new trial date has been set for the former Mason High School teacher who allegedly supplied three of five male students with alcohol and then bedded them in her Springboro home last fall.
Stacy Schuler, 33, is accused of allegedly having sexual relations with the students on several occasions at her Cobblestone Lane home last year. She originally entered a plea of not guilty, but Common Pleas Judge Robert Peeler approved a plea change last week to not guilty by reason of insanity.
Schuler’s attorneys contend the students took advantage of her and since she was impaired, she was helpless to stop it.
Because of the plea change, Schuler will now undergo psychological evaluations. The trial will begin on Aug. 8.
She allegedly supplied alcohol and had intercourse and oral sex with one of the young men and intercourse with another on Aug. 20, 2010. A week later she allegedly provided alcohol again and had intercourse with the same two young men.
On Sept. 10 she allegedly had sex twice with one of the original young men and twice with a third student. Alcohol was not involved in this encounter.
From Sept. 17 through Oct. 15, a fourth student was at her house, along with the second and third “victims.” The Bill says she had intercourse twice with “Victim #4”, once with “Victim #2” and served alcohol to “Victim #3” during that time period.
Finally, from Dec. 1 through Dec. 23 she allegedly had intercourse twice with “Victim #4” and once with “Victims #2 and #5.”
The young men told police they had sex in Schuler’s bedroom and bathroom. They also said they saw inappropriate photos on her phone and computer.
The allegations against Schuler were reported to school officials anonymously on Jan. 10. On Jan. 18, the 10-year Mason teacher was placed on paid administrative leave and has since resigned. Schuler is free on bond and is wearing a GPS monitoring device while living in Centerville with her parents.
